Texas Fencing Academy Schedules

The Texas Fencing Academy offers a variety of classes across the full spectrum of ages and competition. These programs are described below and can be seen on the calendar by mousing over a particular date. The full calendar can reached by clicking on a date.

 

Programs

Youth Class

Introductory classes for children of ages 5-12yrs are on Monday and Wednesday evenings from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m., with private lessons from 7:00 to 7:30 p.m. Equipment is provided for introductory classes. Children should wear sneakers, long socks, and long athletic pants. Your child wants to be Luke Skywalker, so why not have them do it in a fun and safe environment?

Teen/Adult Class

Introductory classes for Teenagers and Adults, ages 13 and up, are on Monday & Wednesday evenings from 7:30 to 8:00 p.m. This is preceeded by warm-ups and open fencing from 6:00 to 7:30. Equipment is provided. Fencers should wear sneakers, long socks, and long athletic pants. Your inner child wants to be Luke Skywalker, so why not do it in a fun and safe environment?

Teen/Adult Open Fencing

Teenagers and Adults, ages 13 and up, who have fencing experienceand are current USFA members are allowed to come and participate in the group warm-up and open fencing (following TFA's safety guidelines) prior to their class which is on Monday & Wednesday evenings from 7:30 to 8:00 p.m. Group warm-up is from 6:00pm to 6:30pm and then Open Fencing begins in parallel with the youth class being taught.

Competitive Class

Texas Fencing Academy generates National level champions through its competitive programs for both youth fencers and adults in Foil and Epee. Competitive conditioning and classes happen Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. with open bouting and private lessons until 9:00 p.m. Come learn to crush your opposition!

UT's Informal Classes (Spring Semester)

Here's a great way to get introduced to fencing! Registration is done through the University of Texas' Informal Class program and the instruction is here at TFA with our coaches and assistants. It's quick, painless, and fun!
